In preparation for the 45th season of racing at Kawartha Downs, the track will be open for training starting this Monday (April 24) from 6 a.m. to noon. The 2017 training schedule is every Monday (6 a.m. to noon), Wednesday (8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Thursday (6 a.m. to noon).
The first set of schooling races will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at 11 a.m. The second schoolers of the season will go postward following qualifying races on Saturday, May 20 which begin at 11 a.m. Qualifying races will then be held every race night (except September 30) at 4:30 p.m.
Schooling races will also be held May 31, June 14 and 28 and July 12 and 26.
Kawartha Downs will open its 2017 harness racing season on May 27 and will offer live racing every Saturday night until September 30 (with the exception of September 16 when it hosts a NASCAR event). Post time every Saturday is 7 p.m.
