Kawartha Downs’ regulars Dagfin and Per Henriksen finished first and third respectively in the sixth race last night at Woodbine Racetrack.
Dagfin’s trotting mare Girl Drama wore down pacesetter Wine Photo to win by a nose in 1:56.2. Per’s three-year-old gelding, Tortola Sunrise, was close for third.
It was the seventh win this year for the six-year-old daughter of Majestic Son owned by Gerald Haggerty. Dagfin also trains Girl Drama who has earned $127,000 to date in her career. Girl Drama raced at KD twice this past racing season, winning both efforts.
Dagfin also picked up a fourth place cheque thanks to his two-year-old trotting filly Southwind Gizzel in the second race at the Toronto track Thursday night. This Muscle Hill rookie started her career with us at Kawartha, winning her first two lifetime starts here.
