Headliner JEAN PAUL
Co-host of Breakfast Television, the Trinidadian-born, Brooklyn-raised and currently a resident of Toronto, comedian Jean Paul has always had an innate sense of humour. Maybe it’s because of his curious nature; perhaps it’s because of his light-hearted view of life. Whatever the reason, Jean knew at an early age that a comedy career was right for him. No stranger to the festival circuit, Jean has performed at Just For Laughs, Halifax and Winnipeg comedy Festivals and, among other credits has written for and toured with Russell Peters. Jean has also been nominated for several prestigious awards, including the Tim Sims Award for up-and-coming comedians, and a Gemini Award for Best Writing in a Comedy Series. He has also proven his talent in TV and film. He has conquered television as a correspondent on Phat TV, portrayed a wide assortment of characters in the CBC special Thick and Thin, and appeared multiple times as a guest on the CBC’s Strombo Show and CTV’s A Russell Peters Christmas Special. He also played the popular Fluff E the Hip-Hop Bunny, on the Comedy Network’s Buzz Show, and is featured in Home Again and A Universal Language.
