Kawartha Downs’ will be awash in red and white as the track celebrates Canada’s 150th Birthday as well as the 250th anniversary of horse racing in this country on July 1. 

Legendary announcer Frank Salive will be calling the 10 race card which kicks off at 7 p.m. Frank and race analyst Gord Brown will host a live pre-race show at 6:30 which will be followed by the singing of the national anthem.

T-shirts depicting both anniversaries will be given away following every race and there will also be special draws for kids to win t-shirts in the Kids’ Activity Centre. In addition the track’s popular Second Chance draws will all feature Canada Day and Horse Racing’s anniversary items.
