We, at Kawartha Downs, are continuously trying to provide our patrons with the best experience possible. We strive for a balance between tradition and technology in order to meet the demands of a changing marketplace and a broadening demographic. In 2006, we began to simulcast our races both Tuesdays and Thursdays year round, allowing our racing product to be seen and wagered on at off-track locations across the country. The benefit? An increase in the betting pools and potential payoffs! At Kawartha Downs, we believe there’s more to horse racing’s enticement than its ability to provide cash winnings! It is truly a unique entertainment experience. Not only is admission free, but children are always welcome unlike other gaming facilities. |

Managed by CASCAR driver and award winning stock car driver Derek Lynch, Kawartha Speedway’s stock car track is recognized as one of the best 3/8 mile oval, asphalt tracks in Canada, due to its progressive banking and a consistent field of talented drivers, making for a great show every time! The stock car racing fan base is growing exponentially worldwide. The reason? At Kawartha Speedway, we believe its due in part to the fact that car racing is one of the few entertainment activities that can affordably, and reliably, be enjoyed by the whole family - and family time is important as we all know and increasingly hard to find time for in today’s fast paced society. It also celebrates the very tangible dreams of those who know cars, and love everything about them. Kawartha Downs & Speedway offers something unusual in conference and meeting venues with our built-in entertainment. In addition to space for meetings, special events, and parties of all sizes, the harness racing runs Tuesdays and Saturdays year round, stock car racing goes through the summer, and the slots next door offer 24-hour weekend gaming - seven days a week in spring/summer. In addition, we have just completed a renovation and can house a number of areas that accommodate a variety of group sizes. Here at Kawartha Downs we can provide traditional top of line roast beef carvery and buffet, or Chef Michael Pigeon can work with the customer to create a special menu, complete with wait staff and bar service. It’s perfect for corporate holiday events as our lower level can accommodate up to 300 people and we will ensure all the entertainment needs are met. |
