2007 Canadian Grand Nationals Lawn Tractor Race - July 29, 2007

2007 Canadian Grand Nationals Lawn Tractor Race

Place: Kawartha Downs & Speedway, located in Fraserville, Ontario Canada on County Rd. 28 south of Peterborough, Ontario.

The 2nd Annual Canadian Lawn Tractor Grand Nationals will feature a large road course circuit to challenge the best of the best. The course will contain 350 ft. straight aways, super wide sweeping corners, and most of all, a smooth surface consisting of turf and clay. Not only will the 2007 Nationals be the premier race of the season, Kawartha Downs is a top entertainment destination with ample area facilities for lodging and on-site food services. Plus, the pit area will be available for camping!

The 2007 Nationals is open to all racers that are currently active members of a recognized race organization such as; USLMRA and local chapters, SOLTRA, OELTRA, BLMRA,  and have participated in a recognized sanctioned event as evidence of experience.

The Nationals race committee will be meeting over the winter months to refine the rules and race format. There will be a class structure to accommodate all racers allowing for fair and competitive racing at a heightened level.

This will be the first time Lawn Tractor racing will receive major Canadian media coverage and will no doubt propel the sport forward for both fans and drivers alike.

In cooperation with The Nationals sponsorship programs along with our great host Kawartha Downs & Speedway, there will be prizes, a cash purse, long haul gas allowance, the waiving of registration fees, plus preferred pit parking for previous champions and 2006 club Champions. The 2007 Nationals will deviate from the norm of a luck of the draw qualifying grid line up, and will be instituting time trials during the July 28th “Practice and Set Up” day, and also during morning practice on race day. Late comers will have to draw for remaining positions for the heat races.

Race fans will be treated to an early bird demonstration on the Kawartha Speedway to help promote the Nationals during one of their regular race night intermissions, so watch out for that. Stay tuned for all the news on the websites and forums.
